We were first told about Selma (NO) by our German friend Heinz Brossolat, and went on to book them to play Indiefjord 2019 – when they performed in Bakketunet.
Since then they've popped up at the festival in one form or another (for example at the legendary silent walk in 2024). We're so pleased to finally have them play a full backline set at Haukly Sunday 12 July.
Selma is a Norwegian indiepop group inspired by 90's Twee like The Field Mice and Belle and Sebastian.
Their music is melancholic acoustic pop with ramshackle elegance. Selma was formed in Seljord in 2016 and named after the sea serpent in Lake Seljord. After many years of DIY releases, the more polished EP "Etterpåklok", mixed and mastered by indiepop legend Derek Almstead, was released in 2023.
