Originally a one-woman lo-fi bedroom pop project by Elise Cook, Soot Sprite has evolved over the past few years into a fully-fledged, touring alt-indie shoegaze outfit. Now joined by Sean Mariner (bass/backing vocals) and Sam Cother (drums/backing vocals), the Exeter trio are set to release their debut album ‘Wield Your Hope Like A Weapon’ on 16 May. Released yesterday (25 March), their latest single, ‘Days After Days’, draws on 90s alt-indie influences with echoes of Sweet Pill to deliver an alt-indie ode about recognising the small victories and finding the good in an increasingly dark world.
